AFTERCARE

This is a general guide and refresher to tattoo aftercare, If you've had great results with a specific product  or method in the past feel free to use them again.

SAME DAY

  • Within 30 minutes and no longer than an hour after the tattoo is completed remove the bandage (if applicable)​

  • Make sure your hands are freshly washed before touching the tattoo.​

  • Gently wash the new tattoo with warm water and soap in the palm of your hand.​ Make sure to wash away any dried blood or plasma from the tattoo.​

  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and then pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.​

  • Give the tattoo 5-10 minutes to completely air dry then apply a thin coat of non-scented white lotion like Curel or Lubriderm.​

  • Repeat before bed (if applicable)

NEXT DAY

  • As soon as you wake up wash the tattoo with warm water and soap in the palm of your hand​. If you are doing so in the shower do not use a wash cloth or shower pouf on the tattoo

  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and then pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel.​

  • Allow the tattoo 5-10 minutes to air dry completely and then apply a thin coat of lotion.

  • Reapply lotion 3-6 times per day or when the tattoo feels dry

  • Repeat the washing process before bed

LONG TERM

  • To ensure your tattoo heals properly. Follow the washing and lotion process daily for 2 weeks

  • Do not submerge your new tattoo in a pool, bath, or hot tub for two weeks or until completely healed

  • Do not pick itch or scratch at the tattoo while it is healing or remove any scabs that may form​

  • Keep your tattoo covered from the sun while it is healing. After the tattoo is healed sunscreen can be used

  • If you exercise at home or gym make sure to clean any equipment you use. After your workout is done wash the tattoo with clean hands

  • If you work in an environment with lots of dust or food and beverage that could come in to contact with the tattoo. Soft material such as cotton garments can be used to cover and protect the tattoo.​​​
